So Kiel was our little superhero and always will be. His biggest wish was to meet his favorite superhero. We tried and tried and tried for a really long time to make it happen. Then like a miracle a friend of ours was able to reach the right contacts and connect us to the one and only Robert Downey Jr. We were ecstatic for Kiel and his expressions when he saw Iron Man on facetime was all that we needed to be happy!
But that wasn't it...Robert called us several times on facetime to chat with the kids and see how Kiel was doing. He made sure that Kiel knew that he really cared about him. Kiel became Robert's hero.
These two made a connection and a friendship that I could have only dreamed about. Robert told us he wanted to get together to meet this amazing boy and to give us a little down time to enjoy things before Kiel got to sick again.
We set up a date and time and we were all set! Robert sent a car to pick us up in style then drove us all the way to long island to hang out. We spent a few absolutely amazing and incredible days hanging out with the most down to Earth and sweetest family ever. They weren't celebrities we hung out with but just normal people. He made a video for Kiel on his page, he took us fishing where Kiel caught his very first fish ever, we went Kayaking for the first time, took the kids to a toy store, stayed at an amazing place, and had some amazing food. A trip of a lifetime!!
