Boston Strong

When we went to Boston in February 2017 we got a hotel and prepared to stay for a long week of treatment. We went to Kiel's appointment and discussed our issues with his doctors. Kiel was having more pain issues and also had been on what we saw as a decline in his health. As we discussed these issues with his doctors, they did not see him being able to and or helpful to continue with the clinical trial they put him on.

Kiel struggled to stay awake, he was tired, sickly, and his body was giving up on him. After talking to his wonderful team at Dana Farber, we decided it was best to take him home and love on him for the remember of his earthly time with us.

We were able to get him home and get him comfortable while the hospital had set us up for hospice care.

While we were home, Kiel had good and bad days. We would unfortunately sit and watch him sleep all day long with a few minutes of being awake at a time. We knew Kiel was the strongest and bravest kid we had ever known but would find that even a strong warrior needed some help.

This photo was of Kiel at the hospital trying to play with his baby sister the best he could. He was the best with her every second he got with her.
