Reality sets in

So a month went by and we went back to the hospital in September for his follow up scan.

Scans went well and Kiel took it like a champ! We get the results back to find out that he had a new growth on his spine. We were shocked! We had planned to take Kiel's Make a Wish trip when he was feeling better so we thought, after treatment before their birthday in October. So now what!?

The doctor told us it would take some time to get the right specialist in place to try the next treatment so since Kiel was feeling good, to go on his trip and we will do another scan the following week when we get back and plan his treatment out.

So we listened to his oncologist and off we went to LEGOLAND!!!! It was an incredible week filled with memories to last a lifetime and all three kids had the times of their lives!!

We went and stayed at the Legoland Hotel and went to the park almost everyday! We also got to go to Universal Studios which was amazing! Found out that Kiel had a love for roller coasters which was so cool!!! There were so many incredible things to do and so many pictures and memories made that week!

As much as we loved the trip we couldn't help but think of the reality of the situation that meant when we get home it would be time to go back to the hospital and start a new treatment plan!
